Marilyn Manson… Who's your Daddy?
Rob Zombie… Who's your Daddy?
KISS… Who's your Daddy?
The answer is simple… Alice Cooper! For over 40 years (yes, you read that correctly) Alice Cooper has been writing, recording and performing the brand of music he invented… "Shock Rock." The aforementioned bands wouldn't even exist, they way we know them, if it wasn't for Mr. Cooper.
Alice Cooper is not only a living legend, he has to be the hardest working guy in Rock'n'Roll. Since 1969 he has released 25 studio albums (and currently recording #26) plus 5 LIVE albums and 8 DVDs.
Alice's brand-new DVD release, "Theatre Of Death: Live At Hammersmith 2009," shows the Freak Show Ringmaster in top form and for a guy in his 60's he hasn't lost a beat. He won't stop and you can't kill him. Not by lethal injection, guillotine or hanging!
How many artists who have been around this long have the stamina to power through a 26 song set list? The only one I can think of is Springsteen and even he takes an intermission. Cooper also has so many great songs and they are all here. From "Welcome To My Nightmare," to "Poison." So many, in fact, he has no problem opening with his most recognizable hit "School's Out" and by the way… he closes with it too.
Anyone who doubts that Alice Cooper should have been inducted into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" decades ago will finally understand what his hardcore fans have known for years… Alice Cooper is the one and only king of theatrical rock'n'roll.
If you've never been to an Alice Cooper concert may your soul be damned to hell and for your penance… watch "Theatre Of Death: Live At Hammersmith 2009" until your face melts off!
Drumroll please… 8 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
