1000544863BRDLEFO_3181ffc1Let’s cut to the chase… “The Flash” is without a doubt the best superhero television show ever created.

Within weeks of its October 2014 premiere, “The Flash” had already sped by all it’s comic book competition (Arrow, Gotham, Marvel’s Agents Of Shield) to become a fan favorite and critic darling.

“The Flash” hit the ground running and covered more ground  in one season than “Smallville” did in five seasons! Actor Grant Gustin stars in the title role as both The Flash and alter ego Barry Allen. Gustin is perfectly cast as he possesses just the right amount of cocky charm needed to bring the wisecracking superhero to life. Gustin is also vulnerable and viewers will be in his corner after just 1 episode. All the actors are top notch.  Standout performances by Tom Cavanagh (Ed), Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker (Justified) stage actor and television veteran Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order) add to the credibility of what might just seem like another costumed hero kids show.

“The Flash” also scored by using actors from the original 1990 TV series. The ageless John Wesley Shipp who played Barry Allen/The Flash 24 years ago on the CBS show now plays Barry’s father. Amanda Pays who played Shipp’s love interest in the 90’s show also reoccurs as the same character she played on the original series… Dr. Christina “Tina” McGee. Fanboys also went crazy when Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, returned to play “The Trickster” a villainous role he also originated in the 90’s series.

The show also wasted no time in introducing the classic rogue’s gallery of bad guys such as the “Reverse-Flash,” “Captain Cold” and “Gorilla Grodd.”

If you have not yet jumped onto the Flash’s treadmill yet then here’s your chance to speed ahead by binge watching “The Flash: The Complete First Season” before Season Two of this high-rated and critically acclaimed show races back onto your TV screen on October 6th.
