In 2009 classic rockers Journey played in front of 30,000 people in Manila to introduce them to their new singer and Philippine native Arnel Pineda.
This concert was previously available to the home video market but this time the fine folks at Eagle Rock Entertainment have added for the first time ever the audio spread across 2 CDs.
The 26 song setlist includes all of the band’s biggest hits including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Faithfully” and “Open Arms.” Journey also digs deep to play fan favorites like “Only The Young” and “Ask The Lonely” plus 7 songs off their album “Revelation” which featured Arnel on lead vocals.
This video quality of this release is spectacular with very band member getting their close-up. If you have never seen Journey Version 3.0 in concert then this is just about as good as it gets with Neal Schon’s rocking solos, Jon Cain’s melodic keyboard stylings and, then, newcomer Arnel Pineda’s soaring vocals.
“Journey LIVE in Manila” is a must have set for all Journey fans past, present and future.
