“NWOBHM Thunder” comes on the heels of of 2018’s “NWOBHM Winds Of Time: New Wave Of British Heavy Metal 1979 – 1985” and fills in the gaps left vacant from the first collection.
This 3 CD set offers up 44 tracks from some of the heaviest bands to ever come out of the UK NWOBHM scene. From Tygers Of Pan Tang to Girlschool and everything in between this collection will have you banging your head from the minute you drop the digital needle on Saxon’s anthem “Heavy Metal Thunder.”
Past and present Iron Maiden vocalists Paul Di’Anno and Bruce Dickinson are both on hand with their original bands Battlezone and Samson. Di’Anno’s growl rips into the tune “The Land God Gave To Caine” while Dickinson’s high pitched vocals are on full display with the track “Earth Mother.” Other stand-out tracks include: “It Could Be Better,” “In The Heat Of The Night” and “Break The Chain.”
