Super group Black Country Communion returns with their fourth album appropriately titled “BCCIV.”

After a 5 year hiatus from the record racks Glenn Hughes, Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham and Derek Sherinian return with their best studio effort to date. Producer Kevin Shirley is once again behind the boards in the Producer’s chair and everyone involved is firing on all cylinders.

The album opens with Jason slamming, Joe jamming and Glenn wailing in the form of “Collide.” This song is the prefect example of Black Country Communion’s ferocity. Next up is “Over My Head” with a cool groove that will have you bopping your head like a mental patient until the chorus kicks in and has you singing along too!

Track three brings the epic 8 minute opus “The Last Song For My Resting Place.” For this tune Glenn turns the microphone over to Bonamassa for this mostly acoustic rocker that is one of the best tunes the band has ever recorded. Joe let’s the solo rip and it is an air guitarists dream.

The hard charging “Sway” is next next and once again Hughes brings his signature rock vocals to this rocking track. The album never stops moving and is perfectly sequenced to showcase every single note. Credit goes to Hughes and Bonamassa, who co-wrote 9 of the 10 tracks, for really bringing their “A-Game” to the song writing table for “BCCIV.”

Here’s hoping that this is not the last we hear of Black Country Communion because if this is any indication of what’s to come then the future looks bright for hard rock fans.
