Simon & Garfunkel’s complete recorded history consists of 5 studio albums, 1 soundtrack album, 4 LIVE albums and their classic “Greatest Hits” compilation which has sold over 14 million copies in the US alone.
Now you can get all these recordings together in the just released “Simon & Garfunkel The Complete Albums Collection.” This collection includes 12 discs all remastered from the original analog sources. Diehard fans will be pleased with the inclusion of “The Graduate,” “Greatest Hits” and the long out of print “The Concert In The Park” which have all been remastered here for the first time ever. All of the discs are presented in mini LP replica sleeves and come housed in a sturdy 5″ x 5″ box. Also included is a 45 page full color booklet with liner notes by Rolling Stone Magazine’s Bud Scoppa and all of the song writing and production notes.
“Simon & Garfunkel The Complete Albums Collection” is a great box set but some glaring omissions keep it from being the definitive collection some fans might be looking for. The box set contains none of the bonus tracks that were featured on the 2001 remasters and the duo’s 1975 comeback single “Our Little Town” is also no where to be found.
In the future record labels should stay consistent with a band’s previous output and always include any material that was previously released. It’s great to have all this music in one package but it would have been absolutely perfect with the other songs included as well.
Drumroll please… 8 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
