Recorded LIVE at the legendary Marquee Club in 1971 this set captures the band in an intimate club setting and playing songs from their not yet released “Sticky Fingers” album.
Mick Jagger is in great voice here but the person to watch on the DVD is the other Mick… Mick Taylor! Taylor’s guitar playing is so great during this show that it made me realize he just might be the best Stones guitarist ever!
This CD/DVD package isn’t just for diehard Stones fans in my opinion this is for any fan of music period. The sound and picture have been remastered and I was blown away with how amazing the quality was after sitting on the shelf for almost 45 years.
In my opinion the best LIVE concert albums are those that capture a band in a single performance rather than an album that is pieced together from various shows.
Thankfully the good folks at Eagle Rock Entertainment continue to outdo themselves with every “From The Vaults” release. “The Marquee Club LIVE in 1971” is without a doubt the best way to see The Rolling Stones at the top of their game.
Drumroll please… 10 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
