Announced earlier today, Blood and Wine, the final piece of content for The Withcer 3, is set to come out May 31st. If you’ve been keeping yourself in the dark, this marks not only the largest piece of DLC for The Withcer 3, but it’s also going to look better than the main game. Having nearly built this area from the ground up, CD Projeckt Red was able to not only make it look better, but also were able to boost the framerate of the console version up to 30 frames per second.
Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz explains:
“Blood and Wine makes The Witcher 3 complete it’s Geralt’s final mission. Containing more than 90 new quests, and over thirty hours of brand new adventures, it’s something that I think gamers will remember for a long time,” said Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director, CD PROJEKT RED. “There’s also a massive amount of features we’re giving gamers with this expansion like a dynamic Point of Interest system, a new Gwent deck, new endgame mutation mechanics, and even a place Geralt can call home…. And it’s all happening in a new region as big as No Man’s Land in the base game,” Tomaszkiewicz adds.
And while this marks the end for additional content on The Witcher 3, that doesn’t mean that CD Projekt Red is quite done yet. They’ve said they’ve been working on a patch for the game in the meantime that will cover Blood and Wine as well as the main game. They’ll offer at least one additional patch after Blood and Wine realeases.
Blood and Wine will be releasing simultaneously on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. It will be available for those who have purchased the season pass or individually for $20. You can check out the teaser trailer and some screenshots below.
