2014 was a huge year for video games, as you saw from Garon’s Top Video Games of 2014.  But let’s look to 2015 and start with some highlights from this week’s Nintendo Direct.  I’ve been a huge Nintendo fan since 1985 and these are some of my personal takeaways from the event.  So if I miss something, or you want to watch the WHOLE DAMN THING, good for you!  I’m you’re pal, so I embedded the video below.

5. Kirby Games: A new game titled Rainbow Curse is out which utilizes the WiiU gamepad to draw rainbow strings for our little puffball to get through tight spots and nasty enemies.  It also uses Amiibo figures for some extras!  Coming to shelves and the WiiShop on 2/20/2015.

4. Sega 3D Classics: FOr fans and owners of the 3DS, look into the eShop for some SEGA classics from Jan-Mar.  Sure to have some gems in there like 3D Outrun and 3D Thunderblade!

3. NEW! 3DS XL: A new 3DS is on the way, bringing on a C-Stick, face-tracking 3D and Amiibo support.  So if you haven’t purchased one yet, get the new line, which is compatible with all previous 3DS games. Releasing 2/13/2015

2. Hyrule Warriors Characters: Tingle and Kid Link are being added to the ruckus that is Hyrule Warriors.  Intense graphics and quick battle animations make this game a juggernaut and it means gamers are going to want even more of those mythical Zelda characters popping up, as you’ll see in the MAJORA’S MASK PACK hitting cyberspace on 2/5/2015!

1.  Of course the Majora’s Mask 3D release was saved for last!  It’s the best game in the series, and it’s about time it gets some recognition.  If you’ve never played it, check it out on the 3DS on Feb 13, 2015!

And there you have it.  Trehern’s highlights from Nintendo Direct North America.  If you got any questions or comments, lock them into the comments section down below.  Are you excited to see some Majora’s Mask?  Or are you gonna hit the SEGA arcade harder than a golden axe?  Let us know!!
