Lionsgate has put out a new teaser trailer for it’s film Mortdecai starring Johnny Depp. The movie comes out February 6th, 2015 and revolves around Depp as the titular Mortdecai, an art dealer who’s traveling the globe, hunting a stolen painting that may have a Nazi bank account number to a vast fortune. The plot sounds like a pretty standard popcorn film and from the looks of the trailer I think the success of this one will rest on Depp conjuring a sufficiently quirky character to draw a wide audience. Historically these more adult oriented films have not gone over as well as his family friendly fare. I’m intrigued enough to buy a ticket, but check out the trailer and decide for yourself.
