Best known for his work with the legendary rock band Queen, drummer Roger Taylor has also amassed an impressive solo career. The first 2 albums in Roger extensive solo catalogue have finally been re-released and are now available from Omnivore Recordings.
Released in the early 80’s both albums are chocked fully of great rock songs like “No Violins,” “Airheads,” and “Laugh Or Cry” from Fun In Space along with “Man On Fire” and “Young Love” from Strange Frontier would have fit perfectly on any Queen album of the day.
Taylor also covers Bruce Springsteen’s classic “Racing In The Streets” giving this song the full on rock treatment that the original mid tempo version lacks.
Both CDs come in the Digipak format with bonus tracks and new liner notes. The re-releases have also been over seen by Roger Taylor himself.
If you are a Queen fan and loved any of the songs Roger sang lead on such as, “I’m In Love With My Car,” “(Rock It) Prime Jive,” or “Sheer Heart Attack” then you owe it to your music collection to pick up “Fun In Space” and “Strange Frontier.”
