Al Stewart fans have something to get excited about as Cherry Red Records has just released the definitive reissue of Stewart’s seminal album “Year Of The Cat.”
The 45th Anniversary Limited Edition Box Set pulls out all the stops by offering up 3 CDs and 1 DVD of amazing Al Stewart performances!
Disc 1 serves up the original classic album plus one bonus track “Belsize Blues.” The album is newly remastered by original Producer Alan Parsons and this version surpasses any reissue that has come before! Parsons has done a spectacular job at making the album sound bright and new and I actually heard subtle elements that I have never heard before.
Disc 2 and 3 feature a LIVE Al Stewart concert recorded in October 1976 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA. The 15 song set spread across two discs finds Stewart in fine voice and features 5 tracks from “Year Of The Cat.” This concert is also previously unreleased so diehard fans will definitely want to own this amazing show on CD.
Last but not least Disc 4 features the original album via a new 5.1 SURROUND SOUND MIX & ORIGINAL 96 KHZ / 24-BIT RE-MASTERED STEREO MIX BY Alan Parsons. This last disc is an audiophiles dream come true.
If you’ve never heard Al Stewart’s timeless classic album the time is now and for those who have… it’s time to upgrade to this wonderful 45th Anniversary Limited Edition Box Set you will not be disappointed!
