This fantastic cult classic was written and directed by Jack Hill, and stars Lon Chaney Jr., Carol Ohmart, Quinn Redeker, Beverly Washburn, Jill Banner, Sid Haig, Mary Mitchel, Karl Schanzer, and Mantan Moreland.
A degenerative syndrome is turning the children of the Merrye House into primitive cannibals, even as the affable caretaker Bruno (Lon Chaney Jr.) attempts to hold things together. When a greedy Merrye heir drops in (lawyer, brother and secretary in tow) to grab hold of the property, things spiral quickly into comic murder and madness!
Thanks in large part to the perfect ensemble cast and Jack Hill’s imaginative script and direction, Spider Baby succeeds where other horror/comedies fail: It’s both funny AND scary! If you haven’t yet seen it, pop on a copy this Halloween. You won’t be at all disappointed! Highly recommended, I rate this a solid 9/10.
