Hey Vinyl Aficionados Intervention Records is go to label for high quality reissues on vinyl and SACD!
Since the label’s inception their sonic goal has been for each record we do is the definitive version of that album, the one real music lovers will seek out. That’s why we work from the original master tapes whenever possible, and always from the very best sources available. We only approve and and move forward with our releases when we are confident we will produce the definitive vinyl edition of that recording. The label has continued to please fans by releasing impeccable reissues from Billy Squier, Everclear, Joan Armatrading and Matthew Sweet just to name a few.
Two of my personal favorite reissues have been Marshall Crenshaw’s sophomore effort “Field Day” and Joe Jackson’s “LIVE in New York: Summer In The City.”
“Field Day” was originally released in the Summer of 1983 and has always been an underrated gem! Produced by Steve Lillywhite, Crenshaw’s second long player is filled with hooks, melodies and sing-a-long choruses that make him one of the best pop rock songwriter’s of all-time! Songs like “Whenever You’re On My Mind,” “For Her Love” and “All I Know Right Now” are some of the best ear candy ever created.
Intervention Records has done a masterful job bringing this fan favorite back to the market place and sounding better than it ever has. Trust me when I say this is the definitive issue of this stellar recording.
“Field Day” is an Artist-Approved Edition and includes Brand-New Cover Art Selected by Marshall Crenshaw himself. The disc contains 100% Analog Mastering FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES by Kevin Gray At CoHEARent Audio. Bonus features include a Bonus US Remix 12″ EP and a Beautiful Old Style Gatefold Jacket Printed By Stoughton. Finally the album was pressed on Ultra-Quiet 180-Gram Vinyl Pressed At RTI.
Joe Jackson’s “LIVE In New York: Summer In The City” finds Joe fronting a three piece band and and killing it LIVE! Joe and his band ripping through a 13 song set that includes Jackson classics such as “Be My Number Two,” “It’s Different For Girls” and “You Can’t Get What You Want” plus covers like “Eleanor Rigby.”
This album is available on vinyl for the first time and was also Remastered From High-Res Masters For The First Time by Kevin Gray At CoHEARent Audio. This Double LP set has been pressed on Ultra-Quiet 180-Gram Vinyl at RTI.
“Field Day” and “LIVE In New York: Summer In The City” are a must for any music lovers vinyl collection and once you purchase these definitive reissues you will never have to buy them again as these pressings will stand the test of time!
