Finally, new music from the singer Adele.
Not that we can complain about her work ethic. Two best-selling, Grammy-winning albums and a Bond theme that snagged an Oscar have been on Adele’s to-do list, along with a having a baby, and yet she sort of thinks of herself as racing against the clock?
From her official site:
My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done. Turning 25 was a turning point for me.
So what had you done by the time you turned 25? (No judgement.) Adele’s ticked another box with the completion of a third album, due out November 20th. In keeping with the titles of her first two, “19” (released in 2008), and “21”, (released 2011), this latest is called “25”, but if it makes you feel better, she’s an ancient 27 now.
Today we finally get a whiff of the new CD with the debut single, Hello.
The song, like the video, is very moody and doesn’t fall too far from what you’d expect. Glad to have you back to work, Adele.
