We could not call ourselves a website dedicated to the pop of culture if we didn’t inform you all that Taylor Swift announced today that she’s dropping a surprise album and music video at midnight tonight.
“Tonight at midnight I’ll e releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two songs with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point).”
Lots of collaborations here, but I’m particularly stoked for Aaron Dessner since The National is one of my favorite bands. Also curious to see what Swift’s version of folk will entail, as she’s branched out to various music genres throughout her career.
