An Overview
K-Pop in Cincinnati? Sign me up. Last week I had the incredible opportunity to photograph EVNNE at their stop in the Queen City (well, technically Covington, Kentucky).
EVNNE consists of seven members some of whom were formerly on the show Boys Planet which debuted a K-Pop fan favorite, ZEROBASEONE. Debuting in 2023 with their first album “Target: Me”the band has now released five studio albums.

The Show
EVNNE delivered an electrifying performance, with perfect synchronized dances. Their energy was high, and stayed consistently up the entire time. It seemed like they would never stop dancing! At some points EVNEE took it easy and performed slower songs that really showcased their vocals.
EVNNE took the time for three outfit changes throughout the concert, and performed alongside visuals that corresponded with each song. Their set lasted almost two hours, with a stacked setlist of over 20 songs. It was definitely one of the longest K-pop concerts I’ve been to, but because of EVNNE’s great performances and fast pace, it felt like the perfect length!

The Fans
K-pop fan culture is nothing short of elaborate. Fans, who are called “ENNVE” lined up around the block, holding their EVNNE lightsticks, pickets, and photocards. Throughout the entire concert you could hear fans cheering them on any chance they got. During breaks between the songs, EVNNE connected with the audience via a translator, talking about their experiences on tour. Despite the language barrier, you could tell that EVNNE really cared about connecting with their fans. Even going as far as referencing relevant memes and asking select audience members who their favorite member was. Watching them speak and talk with their fans was just as entertaining as their performances.

Conclusion
Overall, EVNNE was an incredible group to see, especially in my home city! They really put on a showstopping performance that puts them on par with other big names in the K-pop industry. I am looking forward to seeing where they go next, and hopefully I will see them sometime in the future!
