Some of the Best Movies and Shows to Watch on A Weekend

Weekends are a time when we love to let our hair down, explore new TV shows and read those books that have stayed on our shelves for a long time. The 9 to 5 corporate hustle leaves very less time for people to enjoy themselves and indulge in the things they love. Fortunately, the weekends serve as a blessing. From catching up with friends and exploring some unusual cafes to curling up inside our warm blankets and watching reruns of FRIENDS, there is a lot that we can do on the weekends. That said, in the article that we have here today, we shall discuss some of the best shows and movies that you can watch this weekend and find some inspiration to get back to your job the next day.

Undone:

Not many people have heard about this gem of a show, though it is perhaps one of the best things that you shall see on TV. Only one season of the show, containing eight episodes, has been released so far, which makes it the best show for you to catch up on this weekend. Undone chronicles the life of 28-year old Alma, who finds her life altered by time and space after surviving a car crash. This show, that is made by the same team that gifted us BoJack Horseman, pushes the boundaries of television and bends every genre that makes it difficult to place it in any one watertight compartment.

Kate Purdy’s storytelling leaves us in awe as we watch Alma navigate through her failing relationships, degrading mental health and a world that she finds ever so changed. Undone might, therefore, just be the best show for you to indulge yourself in after a long week and especially at a time when the world is battling a seemingly invincible virus.

Casino Royale:

Who does not love to see the handsome Daniel Craig in action? Casino Royale, that released way back in 2006, is one of the best instalments in the James Bond franchise. It follows the journey of Bond 007 into taking down Le Chiffre against the backdrop of the world of casinos. The movie features, what can be said to be one of the best scenes in any casino movie, an incredible showdown at the much renowned Monte Carlo Casino in a game that shall either get Bond everything or leave him nothing.

This Georgia (US) article at Slotsformoney.com also features Casino Royale as one of the best movies to be themed upon gambling and casinos and, therefore, leaves little to the imagination about how brilliant this movie might be. Watch James Bond takedown the torture-inflicting Le Chiffre on a Sunday afternoon and set your weekend to the tune of the Bond franchise.

Fleabag:

Fleabag is one of the best shows to have been made in the history of television, and we are not exaggerating. If you have a penchant for deadpan and clever comedy, Fleabag should definitely make it to your weekend binging list. With just two seasons and a total of 12 episodes, Phoebe Waller-Bridge narrates the story of who we only know as Fleabag with utmost perfection. Human beings are flawed and sometimes broken to an unfathomable extent. However, that is what makes life worth and survival a success.

Fleabag is the story of a woman in her early 30s who runs a café, and makes enough to get through every day. Her wit-laced conversational skills and deadpan humor gets her through each day and acts as a defense mechanism for all the damage she has received. Olivia Coleman steals the show as the Stepmother, and Andrew Scott is nothing less than a delight as the Hot Priest.

Uncut Gems:

The final movie that we thought would make for a great watch on a weekend is Uncut Gems. However, watch this movie only if you are in for an incredibly intense and heartbreaking story. Adam Sandler’s character is a gambling addict who is almost at the brink of destruction. However, the genius of the movie lies in how his character can pull us into this sickness of his and make us live his life vicariously.

The movie has a tragic finale and shows how addiction to gambling can ruin lives. However, the audience might still want to wonder what more the character could have done with his gambling skills because that is exactly how addiction works.

Wrapping Up:

These were some of the best movies and shows, each different in flavor and setting, that we feel can help you enjoy your weekend a little better. Catch these shows with your friends or settle in for a movie marathon with your partner-the choices are unlimited. You can also do some research and keep adding to the list in case you needed ideas for the next weekend.
