Last week, Square Enix announced the release date for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. This will be the fifth entry in the long running series. The original Star Ocean  released on the Super Famicom back in 1996 and didn’t see a release outside of Japan until the PSP port came out in October of 2008. Hard to believe the series is twenty years old!

The release date for Integrity and Faithlessness will be June 28th in North America and July 1st in Europe. Unlike Japan, where it released for both the Playstation 3 and 4, North America and Europe will only get the Playstation 4 version.

You can order pre-order it in two different flavors. The Day One Edition includes battle background music from Valkyrie Profile and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (both of which had their music composed Star Ocean’s music, Motoi Sakuraba) and a download code for some in-game items. This edition addition is available at all retailers for the initial run and will sell for $59.99.

The Collector’s Edition includes art cards, steenbok, Pangalactic ID Card, a Star Ocean art book, a soundtrack with selected tracks from the game, the same music from Valkyrie Profile games in the Day One Edition plus additional tracks from previous entries in the Star Ocean series, the DLC from the Day One Edition, and a collector’s box to keep it all in. The Collector’s Edition is available only at the Square Enix Store and will be $109.99.
